Pathways to Power (P2P)

P2P interns develop and facilitate civic engagement workshops among BIPOC youth in the Greater Seattle area. Content will encourage youth to become active participants in the democratic process.  We work to strengthen our communities by ensuring that every voice is heard and represented in politics.

Pathways to Power (P2P)

This program aims to educate and empower Black males ages 13-18 in the Seattle area about politics, local laws, leadership, community organizing, and civic engagement.

Through a combination of workshops, discussions, and hands-on activities, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the political process, the power of their voices, and the ways they can create positive change in their communities.

The program will feature guest speakers from local government, community organizations, and social justice movements. Participants will learn about the history of political engagement in the Black community, the current political landscape in Seattle, and the issues most relevant to their lives. They will also develop important skills in public speaking, debate, leadership, and community organizing.

Through interactive activities and projects, participants will apply what they learn to real-world scenarios. They will research and propose solutions to issues in their communities, and plan and carry out a community action project. By the end of the program, participants will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to be active and effective leaders and change-makers.
