Mentoring Support

ACE program participants will receive mentoring support that will improve academic achievement, self-esteem, social competence, and avoidance of problem/high-risk behavior by providing a relationship with a caring adult black male who works to help youth achieve their potential. ACE addresses the students’ socio-emotional needs and skill development through sustained contact with a mentor through their entry into ACE and beyond.

ACE Middle School Mentoring Program

ACE is launching a Middle School Mentoring program with a focus on 7th Grade Black and BIPOC males in the Seattle area.

The program will start with the Mid-Winter Break Camp in February. Following the camp, ACE staff and mentors will meet with students at their school for check ins 1-2 a month. This will be followed by the Spring Break Camp in April and then the Summer Learning Experience in July. ACE Summer Learning Experience (SLE) is a 5-year grant awarded program collaborating with the City of Seattle and the Department of Education and Early Learning. SLE will take place at ACE Headquarters and will focus on rising 8th grade males (Students entering 8th in the 2025-2026 School Year). Young men will be exposed to hands-on academic learning opportunities through:

1.    Identity Development, Humanities, Health & Wellness, Math & Science and have daily experiential learning opportunities through weekly local field trips. 

2.    ACE Summer Learning Experience will also feature an individualized leadership & learning plan in which our young men will be able to earn goal-based summer stipends. ACE Summer Learning Experience will focus on the whole child with the intention of experiencing the joy of learning daily.

3.    Young men will learn compassion and understanding (Family), a strong educational and cultural foundation (Academics), the value of perseverance and determination (Motivation), and how to use their individual talents for the greater good in their community (Environment). 

Who is eligible?

Current 7th grade students in the Seattle area are eligible to be a part of the ACE Mentoring Program.

  • Mid-Winter Break Business Camp

    • February 18-21 from 9 am to 2:30 pm at ACE Headquarters

  • Spring Break STEM Camp

    • April 14-18, 2025 from 9 am to 2:30 pm at ACE Headquarters

  • 2025 Summer Learning Experience

    • July 7 to August 1 (tentative) from 9 am to 2:30 pm at ACE Headquarters
