Teaching is a rewarding yet demanding profession, and the unique challenges faced by Black educators can often amplify stress, leading to burnout. This workshop is designed to provide Black teachers and school leaders with tools to identify, manage, and reduce stress while maintaining mental health and well-being.

 Who Should Attend:

  • Black Educators (Teachers, Administrators, Counselors)

  • Educational Allies and Supporters

  • Anyone passionate about mental health in education

 Course Benefits:

  • Increased Awareness of Common Stressors

    • Attendees will gain a deep understanding of the specific stressors that affect educators, particularly Black teachers, helping them to identify and address these challenges.

  • Personalized Stress Management Strategies

    • Participants will learn how to recognize their own personal stress triggers, as well as those of their colleagues, and explore strategies tailored to their unique experiences.

  • Actionable Tools to Address Burnout

    • Attendees will leave equipped with concrete steps and tools to manage burnout, restore balance, and maintain their well-being, fostering long-term resilience in their teaching careers.

  • Resource Identification

    • Participants will be introduced to at least three effective resources (mental health services, self-care strategies, community support) designed to help manage stress and mental health challenges, both personally and professionally.

  • Fostering Peer Support Networks

    • The workshop will promote peer collaboration and support, encouraging educators to not only focus on their own mental health but also to support their colleagues and contribute to a more positive, inclusive school environment.

  • Enhanced Work-Life Balance

    • By addressing personal and professional stressors, attendees will feel empowered to create healthier boundaries, develop better work-life balance, and prioritize self-care while staying passionate about their work.
